Decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life is filled with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some are easy. Fruit Loops or Apple Jacks? Milk or Soda? Small pillow or big pillow? Duck-billed platypus or raccoon? (That one’s SUPER easy–platypus every time.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Others aren’t so easy. Who will you marry? What degree will you choose? How many children–or no children? Where will we live? Where should we go to church? Who should we support?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do not pray about Fruit Loops or Apple Jacks. I do not pray about which pillow to use at night. But the big decision always call for prayerful consideration. Making a wrong decision has always scared me. I never want to miss the will of God. But that fear has often turned out to be a healthy one. My fear of missing God’s will has always forced me to seek it all the more carefully, and to never enter into big decisions hastily. And as I look back over the lastst 15 years of my life with my wife and children, I don’t think we ever have missed the will of God on our big decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, to fear or not to fear, that is the question. If I have to choose, I’m sticking with the fear, cuz it seems like I’ve heard something about the fear of God being the beginning of wisdom, or something like that. Wisdom certainly helps when making tough decisions. So I’m sticking to my fear.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
