I grew up as a pastor\u2019s kid. I remember often going down to the sanctuary, just down the hill from our parsonage, and spending time alone there. Even from a young age, I found a peace in God\u2019s house that I couldn\u2019t find elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, as I sit alone in our sanctuary here at Peerless Church<\/a>, I\u2019m reminded of those days in my youth. And of the countless moments over my lifetime when I have found the sweet, peaceful presence of God while seeking Him in His house. I understand the words of David:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
