CAUTION–Darren will rant in 3…2…1…
Fellow Christians, am I the only one a little tired of hearing about Shemitah, Blood Moons, Red Heifers, Pale Horses, Black Horses,Yellow Brick Roads, Little Green Men, Yellow Submarines, etc. (and of those making gobs of money on these things)? It doesn’t make you a prophet to say judgment is coming, and you don’t need signs in the heavens, Jewish dates, or troubling headlines to proclaim it. Yes, judgment is coming. Judgment has ALWAYS been coming. This is NOT brand new information!
If you’re a Christian, don’t get overly caught up in the headlines, or the stars, or the moons. Don’t rush out to buy the books that focus on these things. All we need is found in the book we already have–THE Word. Are all these things in that Word? Kind of, although Apocalyptic Literature is deliberately open to interpretation, which is why prophecy preachers can use the same scriptures over and over again for brand new headlines. But where they appear, they are just SIGNS.
Signs are never primary to any event, they are always secondary. The signs are not THE event, the signs simply POINT US to the event. And I’m excited about the coming event.
While we see many different colored horses that represent judgment in John’s Revelation of Jesus Christ, only one horse matters–THE WHITE ONE, and that horse only matters because of its Rider. Is judgment coming? YES! When? When the RIDER on the white horse shows up. And as for me, I can’t wait for the day when it happens, because that day looks like THIS:
“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” Rev. 19:11-16
I don’t fear this day, I hope and long for this day. And the only thing I predict is that we’re closer to it today than we were yesterday. Don’t make the signs the event. The event is, and always has been, Jesus. John’s Revelation wasn’t about blood moons or Jewish festivals. John had a REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST. Look it up, it’s right there in verse 1. So don’t lift up your head looking for bloodied moons. Lift up your head to look for your Redeemer.
